Nexus 5k/2k impossible to create vPC on FEX

Hello,

I have a pair of n5k, with 10* n2k dual homed.

I have a Po for a server connected on 2 different n2k, but when I try to add vPC ID the Nexus reject my command.

NEX-A# sh port-ch sum
201   Po201(SD)   Eth      LACP      Eth1/23(D)   Eth1/24(D)
303   Po303(SD)   Eth      LACP      Eth104/1/11(D)  Eth104/1/12(D)  Eth105/1/11(D)
                                     Eth105/1/12(D)

The command works for n5k ports but not n2k :

NEX-A# sh run int po201
interface port-channel201
  description SERV-00-01
  switchport access vlan 112
  speed 10000
  vpc 201

NEX-A(config)# int po303
NEX-A(config-if)# vpc 303
ERROR: Operation failed: [vPC already exists]

Here is my show vpc, no vpc 303, but one ID per port and a total of 508 vpc whereas I configured only 2 vpc :

NEX-A# sh vpc
Legend:

There will be an internal port-channel created for enhanced VPC. you dont need to explicitly set a VPC ID. in fact, you cant.

please check the output of "show vpc brief" and you will see the port-channel listed there.

Hi;

You share the output of "show vpc brief" of primary switch, can you verify on secondary N5K switch also may be vPC id 303 is assigned to port-channel.

Thanks & Best regards;

Hi,

You're right, here is the output with auto generated ID :

111662 Eth110/1/47 down*  Not         Consistency Check Not      -
                          Applicable  Performed
111663 Eth110/1/48 down*  Not         Consistency Check Not      -
                          Applicable  Performed
262446 Po303       down*  Not         Consistency Check Not      -
                          Applicable  Performed
262454 Po311       down*  Not         Consistency Check Not      -
                          Applicable  Performed
262455 Po312       down*  Not         Consistency Check Not      -
                          Applicable  Performed

It's an error from my part, we need to use vPC ID on Po, when Fex are single homed.

Thank you all.
