Hi everyone.

I swapped X2 transciever from "faulty" TenGigabitEthernet4/5 X2 socket to TenGigabitEthernet4/3:

show int

TenGigabitEthernet4/3 is up, line protocol is up (connected)

  Hardware is c7600 10Gb 802.3, address is c471.fe9f.f42a (bia c471.fe9f.f42a)

As you can see the errors are magically disappeared.

So, I assum that TenGigabitEthernet4/5 X2 hole is defective. How can I confirm that using CLI?

Hi,

You should see link flaps or any errors related to te4/5 or module 4 under "show log" output. You could also check diagnostics of the module using :

"show diagnostics result module 4" and "show diagnostics events"

you can check the status of the port asic to see if you are dropping packets

show platform port-asic stat drop

Hi,

Please clear the counters once and see if they are incrementing again.

If they are incrementing:

1. Check logs to see if anything is wrong with the affected interface.

2. And is there any performance issue beacuse of these errors.

If not, then this could be a cosmetic bug.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Sweta

P.S. Please rate the answer if it was useful.

Thanks guys,

Whole WS-X6708-10GE card was changed to a new one and all errors dissapered after this operation. Card with errors returned back to Cisco partner for testing. Waitng for.
