I am using a C9300-48UXM (IOS XE 17.03.04) to power a C3560CX-8PT (IOS 15.2(7)E3). Based on the Data Sheet, the C3560CX-8PT should be able to operate with a minimum of 2x PoE Uplink or 1x PoE+ Uplink. When I use 2x Uplinks, the switch can boot normally and after the boot process, the C3560CX-8PT gets UPoE on both Uplinks (during the bootup process it's just PoE) from the C9300-48UXM and then I am able to remove one Uplink. But when I use 1x Uplink, the switch is stuck in a booting loop and he only gets PoE (15.4 W).
I have tried it with static PoE, but still facing the same issue. Has somebody experienced a similar problem?

Hi,
Can you please try to configure the "power inline port 2-event" interface command at the Cat9300 port connecting to C3560CX-8PT PoE+ Uplink and see if that can help.
Best regards,
Antonin

Which seems to indicate that this is required, you may want to read the full document (too)

I have read this article. As I understand it, 2x UPoE uplink is the maximum supported for PoE base on the "Table 1. PoE Budget".

- When using the 2x uplink configuration , configure a syslog server on the switch and save the config, then with the none working one-uplink boot-cycle(s) , check if any additional message(s) are send to the syslog server which could be indicative.

Hi Antonin,
This command did the magic. The C3560CX-8PT gets now PoE+ over a single Uplink at the beginning of the boot process.
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Alex
