I want to send device hostname in trap message. Right now hostname column shows IP address. I want it to reflect device hostname. I tried "logging origin-id hostname" but it did not work. I also tried "logging origin-id string SWITCH1" but no luck
I am having 3650 and running 16.6.5 code.
Below is the show run | in logging output
logging buffered 10000000
no logging console
no logging monitor
hw-switch switch 1 logging onboard message
logging origin-id string SWITCH1
logging host X.X.X.X transport udp port 1000
logging host X.X.X.X transport udp port 10514
logging host X.X.X.X transport udp port 27514
logging host X.X.X.X

Sorry, Balaji for the delayed response.
I added host entry on the Solarwinds server and then that name was reflecting in the DNS field of the node details.
And I am also getting the hostname in the SNMP trap email alert.
Thanks.

logging origin-id string SWITCH1
Is this command is logging or snmp trap ?
