Setup 9300 Switch

scoutt
Level 1
Level 1

setting up a new 9300 and loaded it up and went through all the setup questions, not one asked me to assign an IP to the switch, I also can't find anything on the net that shows me how. I don't want to use DHCP, I can login with CLI so I know its all up. The normal

switch# ip address <ip> <subnet> doesn't work on this switch

Thoughts? and thank you

you can change what ever vlan number you like, but if you change vlan2 then you need your access port belong to same vlan.

This switch, so you need to configure the interface to assign IP address.

By Default all the ports are in VLAN 1, if you like to configure vlan1

config t

interface vlan 1

ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.255.0

no shutdown

!

interesting, that's what I had at one point, but using vlan2 instead, and I couldn't SSH to it or ping it. I'll try again. Come to think of it, I might know what I did wrong. lol
