Hi,
Yes, for posts that are up and running, there is no workaround that I know and have not been able to get any good answer from Cisco, but they insist that this is a cosmetic error message.
sometimes replacing the SFP helps, but the error comes back again.
You may want to open a ticket with TAC. They may have a workaround in the newer versions.

Hi
I had this problem too
%SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/0/50: Rx power low warning; Operating value: -17.7 dBm, Threshold value: -17.0 dBm.
We tried everything on this forum and then last night, a field engineer noticed that we were using single mode fibre cable and a multimode sfps. we chnaged the cable to multimode and (touch wood) since then the error has not occured since. It is also worth noticing we never saw any interface errors on the interface and that other forums suggest you can run sm fibre on mm sfp. This fibre had been in place for over a year and only recently started playing up. So in first instance I would recommend you have the correct fibre for the sfp and correct sm./mm patch panel.

Hi,
This is usually not a transceiver or cable issue. This is a cosmetic bug that produces this message in the logs in most 4500 and 2960x series switches. If you have any unused SFP ports shutting them admin down sometimes help and for the fiber ports that are already connected, there isn't much of workaround, but the message does not cause any issue.

The problem was solved with the correct cable.

Hi!
May I ask for the BugID of the error, since it was a cosmetic issue?
Thank you!

Hi,
Few cosmetic bugs are actually filled as bugs, as these are considered low priority and rarely singled to TAC actually. There are way more important bugs to take care of, than cosmetic bugs.

Cristian Matei.
