We are about swap out just the chassis (not changing modules) on a 6509-v-e switch. This device sits in a VSS pair. I don't see any specific caveats in doing this in the documentation but is there anything to watch for, verify if we are just doing a straight replacement of the chassis only? The existing sups and line cards from the current device will be going back in.
Power down, put in new chassis, replace cards and sups and power up is the plan.
Thanks for any info.

changing the chasis with same specification of Power, i do not see any issue, make sure you change the chasis, and and test all the moduies booted correctly, before joining to VSS domain again.

Thank you. Turns out, this is not a VSS configuration, so makes life a little easier. Thanks for your response.

You are lucky if not VSS - easy win then for you.
