Hi All,
I have found one of the port has no night and it showed the interface down\down (notconnect) on the 2960 cisco switch. I tried to reload the switch and change the cable still not working. Any ideas?

Possible cause :
1. Port may be bad
2. Patch cable issue
3. try shut and no shut
still issue give below information :
show version
show interface x/x
show run interface x/x
show interface status
some tips :

Make sure to look for err disabled under the show int status. If there is an err disable go on the interface and do a shut and no shut. You will need to troubleshoot if it went into err disable mode what is causing that. Ive had that happen a lot on optical connections with a of CRC's.

When you reload switch; it goes thru self-check including checking for bad ports, bad power over Ethernet, etc.
you should be able to see if there are errors or issues with ports, like bad port xyz will be listed. Just make sure you connected via Console to see output.
