TACACS+ local autenticacion

Hello I put the following command

aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local

but for whatever reason when doing a test a loosing connection to the tacacs server the local user does not kick in as fallback

does anyone knows why?

do you have 'login authentication default' configured under your VTY lines ?

I have it like this

line vty 0 4
exec-timeout 30 0
privilege level 15
logging synchronous

but when you leave it blank, it is explicitly imply that the default method list is active isnt?

It should be implicit. You might as well retype it to be sure. Also, configure transport input all under the lines...
