Three-tier design configuration with virtual trunking protocol configuring

Hi support,

i have a three-tier design with Access DIstribution and Core.

Building 1 with many access switch and two distribution

Building 2 with some access switch and two distribution

Building 3 with some access switch and two distribution

All distributions switches are connected to 2 cores swicthes.

My question is how can i configured all distributions switch in vtp mode server and access in vtp client for the same vtp domaine on all buildings?

Hi;

It's depend on your connectivity b/w Core & Distribution switch:

If it's L3 links then each building have separate vtp domain (which is recommended & Best practice & vtp run as transparent mode)

If it's L2 links then you have same vtp domain in all 3 building via Core switch & your core should configure as STP root bridge.

if i configured L2 links between distribution and core, its also fast like the other case?

what is the aim difference between the two case?
