Hi all,

what are the supported transceiver modules with C9300X-12Y-E switch,

Does it come with fixed ports or we need to purchase SFP modules?

if needed, what are the supported transceiver modules with C9300X-12Y-E switch?

Hi,

According to the datasheet, you would need to purchase the uplink module. It does not come with it by default.

see table-3 in this link for the supported modules:

Try this : https://tmgmatrix.cisco.com/?npid=4301

lots of options for modules depending on the speed and reach you need.

Model has 12 optical ports and will support 1-, 10- and 25 Gbps optics.  Modular uplinks is an optional purchase.

IMPORTANT:  Because this is a 9300X, the modular uplink must be an "X" or it will not work.  Non-X modular uplinks will not work on 9300X-specific model.  This is by design.

Depends on many factors, such as:

  • Are these optics Cisco-branded or 3rd party?
  • Are the optics going to be used on the on-board optics or the modular uplinks?
  • What firmware is the 9300X going to be running on?

I have the same need to understand SFP right model for C9300X-12Y-E, on-board optics, Cisco branded. We have to implement fiber optics OM4 link 1/10 Gbps. I have found "SFP-10/25G-CSR-S", that works at 10/25 Gbps, could it be the right one ? What if I need just 1/10 Gbps ? Could SFP-10G-SR= be the right choose ?

It depends because SFP-10G-SR will only work on 10 Gbps, short-reach.  If the handover is a 1 Gbps link, then the correct optics should correspond, like GLC-SX-MMD (for 1 Gbps application).
