Trying to find the correct router

I have been running into walls trying to determine the correct router for one of my remote locations. I have some set requirements and some not so set.

First it must have the DynamicVPN support to handle spoke to spoke communication. Must have an upgrade path to go from DSL to T1 or fraction T1 (DSL is current connection) and must support VoIP. I thought that i could get away with an 1841 with the appropriate security bundle but i just found that the 1841 does not support VoIP or even have the ability to have a VWIC support. Can someone help so i dont continue to do brain damage to myself. Thanks!

Jester,

The mimimum platform that will support your needs is the 1861. It has built in FXS and FXO or BRI ports, but does not support VWIC modules. It also only supports up to 8 users. Take a look at the following link.

For something more expandable, take a look at the 2800 series. Depending on the number of users you have to support, one of these would likely do the job nicely for you.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Thank you Brandon.

I was thinking that this was the way to go as i have two of the 2800 series in other location already. Was hoping to get something less expensive. Thank you for confirming my take on the situation.
