As you can see in my original post,

The link between the 2610 that the 3550 is connect to is up/up across 3550 fa0/1 -> 2610 fa0/0

But I am unable to see cdp info. Although on by default, I when ahead and enable it globally on both devices.

Vlan 1 is also up and I am unable to ping the default gateway.

There is nothing about a 2610 in your original post ...

Paste a "show cdp interface" of both devices and alos the config.

Your original post only shows 3550 information; kind of hard to go by that to help you.

Timers match  ..

Hi
can u assign the port in vlan 1 on which router is connected
switchport mode access
spanning tree portfast

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

well i originally configured the 3550 fa0/1

int fa0/1

switchport mode access

switchport port-security

switchport port security mac-address wanted to see port security working ...

Once cdp wasnt up, I then configured portfast .. but no change.

just tried it again. No change.

Put switchport mode access on both ports 1and 2. Then plug something up to port 2, then try to ping between the switch and router.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

I have fa0/1 and fa0/2 configured as an access port.

fa01 is connected to the 2610 router.

fa0/1 is connect to laptop.

Debug cdp packets shows cdp v2 packets out for fa 1 and 2 on switch.

Debug cdp packets shows cdp v2 packets out for fa 0/0

Neither increment inbout packet counters
