Hi,

i'm tring to create a vPC peer-link between my 7000 & 5000.

The 10G trunk is up between the Two but i cannot manage to mount the vPC peer-link.

I'm wondering if this link is even possible, Cisco doesn't talk about a connection like that.

Here is some of my conf & some Show

50007000

Nexus5000#show run
peer-keepalive destination x.x.x.81
interface port-channel20
  switchport mode trunk
  switchport trunk native vlan 20
  switchport trunk allowed vlan 20
  vpc peer-link
  spanning-tree port type network

interface Ethernet1/1
  switchport mode trunk
  switchport trunk native vlan 20
  switchport trunk

  channel-group 20

Nexus7000#show run
peer-keepalive destination x.x.x.80
interface port-channel20
  switchport
  switchport mode trunk
  switchport trunk native vlan 20
  switchport trunk allowed vlan 20
  spanning-tree port type network
  vpc peer-link

interface Ethernet2/1
  switchport mode trunk
  switchport trunk native vlan 20
  switchport trunk allowed vlan 20
  channel-group 20
  no shutdown

I can't find any documentation but I don't even think this is a supported design/configuration.

Agreed. The problem you having sounds a CFS incompatibility between the nexus 5000 and 7000.

The debug output you posted, stop before the two CFS peers enters a negotiation phase.

I test a working config between a N5K and a N7K, it it did not come up.

This might be version related, but without any documentation reference, I can say if there are compatible N5K/N7K versions.

Ok,

thank you for trying. I give up i'll try others features.

Maybe it's gonna come later, nowadays, let's say it's not possible.

Thank you guys.

I am running into a similar situation with one of my customers. Did you reconsider this design?

Wondering if we can pair a Nexus 7009 switch with a Nexus 5548 as vPC peers?
