Zohaib,

Was is it a vtp password issue?

yes

I also faced the same issue, initially my switch was in Client mode then not update VLAN database i tried all but no success. Then finally changed it to Transparent Mode and then its start working and VLAN also updated .I want to know the reason for these why it didn't work in Client Mode?

I believe it has to do with the server to client VTP won't initiate, as initially there are 5 Vlans active in Client mode by default, and to reset the count would require to change the mode to Transparent in order to establish a successful join.

Regards,
Abdulla

If we set VTP mode to client and then connected to existing working Core switch server Mode then why all vlans didn't synchronized it.As per my understanding if we set to Client mode sure his configuration revision number will be less than Server switch.when i changed it to transparent then only it start synchronizing why like this?
Appreciate if you can expedite on these.

Is password is compulsory while making vtp server because i have just made vtp domain and modes on every switch , so is there any issue of password if not configured
