If two switches are in VTP SERVER mode and have the same VTP Domain name, does the swith with the highest revision number control the configuration of the domain? Will a switch in VTP SERVER mode accept the configuration information from another switch?
Thanks,
LH

Hi Larry
Yes, if both are in VTP server mode with the same domain name, same password ( if set ) and are connected via a trunk then the switch with the highest configuration revision number will control the config. Obviously this means that once synced you could make the changes on either VTP server as the revision number should be the same.
And yes a VTP server will accept configuration from another VTP server.

It will also accept a config from a client if the revision number is higher and it is in the same vtp domain and has been known to take down networks if you are not careful about putting new devices in .

I agree unless you really need I would leave them all vtp mode transparent :)
