Will catalyst run with current version and config until reload after upgrade?

Hi,

I am going to upgrade a number of catalyst 2960s-switcher to the latest IOS-version. The best solution for me would be if all the switches could be reloaded at the same time to shorten the maintenance-windows. So my question is: If I run the upgrade (archive download-sw) before the maintenance-windows WITHOUT the reload-option, will then the switches continue to run without interruptions with the current IOS-version and config until I run reload manually?

That is correct.

  If you really want to cut down on time just get into the boxes  and do a scheduled reload on all the boxes to run during your change window.
