I have installed a set of SX-20's in our network and all are looking fine except for one of them.
The image is "fuzzy" and looked like someone had put their fingerprints on the camera lens.
I got out a micro cloth that I use for my glasses and carefully cleaned the lens. But the fuzzyness is still there.
If I have the PIP on, I can see that there is like a halo around someone that has on a light color or white shirt.
Is this a known problem? ( I thought I heard something about a SX20 camera issue a couple of weeks ago)
Or do I need to open a TAC case?

Hi!
The 4x camera issue you might refer to is described here:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-25123
and does not sound that the bugs described there match your issue.
Are you sure the camera focusses correctly? Did you try to pan tilt and zoom?
Not sure if the sx20 4x is the same then the version on the c20, maybe?
If you do not get a better answer I would recomend you to escalate this case
as a service request to tac ( https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13613 )

We have had some issues with the 4x cameras used on C-Series codecs, however, an SX20 normally comes with a "Nandi" camera as opposed to a "Sangam" camera on the C-Series.
Can we check the camera type?

Do you have same problem?
I already open case on TAC yesterday.

Hello,
I do not see the same kind of bad video you have attached earlier, also running TC5.1.3 release.
Your setting of the camera is :
*c xConfiguration Video Input Source 1 Quality: Sharpness
That's not really recommended when moving the camera around like shown in the clip. Can you set it to motion instead?
ā07-25-2012 04:51 AM
And do we have enough bandwidht for the 1080p ?
Can you make call and check following whilst in a call :
xstatus Diagnostics //Drop
*s Diagnostics Call 21 Channels IncomingAudioChannel 275 Netstat 1 Drop: 2
*s Diagnostics Call 21 Channels IncomingVideoChannel 278 Netstat 1 Drop: 0

Dear Danny,
Thank you for your reply,
The camera setting is 'Motion' and i make the call 6000kbps bandwidht for the 1080p.
I will up 'xstatus Diagnostics //Drop' and 'xstatus Diagnostics //LastIntervalLost'.
Thanks and best regards,

Hi Takeshi
I receieved some logs from Danny. The log indicates that the experimental setting 1080p60 is turned on. Please turn it off
xConfiguration Experimental Enable1080p60: Off and see if the problem disapeears.
1080p60 is not supported before TC6 - only experimental.
Also, sharpness should never be used for anything else than a totally static picture, like a power point presentation etc. (thats why sharpness is default on presentation source, and motion is default for main video).
Motion is preferred and default for anything that moves.
Let me know if the problem persists after disabling 1080p60.
Thanks,
Johan

Hi Takeshi,
If the camera is faulty, then you should get the same issue during self view. Also before you proceed further to open a TAC case, please check the powerline frequency :
xConfiguration Cameras PowerLine Frequency:
Try to toggle between the 3 options and check if you're stil facing the issue. If the camera is faulty, you can open a TAC case to perform further troubleshooting and get it replaced.

Hi Takeshi,
Can you clarify this :
You mentioned :
"I had change other codec(with RMA process) but can not resolve the issue and the camera works normally with other codec."
Question 1: You have swap another SX20 codec, and issue is the same, right
"The camera normally working with C60."
Question 2 : Do you mean the 4X S2 camera works normally with a C60? So you mean you connect the HDMI part of the camera to the C60 and external power supply to the 4X S2 camera, right?
Question 3: With the SX20, are you doing 1080p60 or 1080p30? Which resolution has the issue?
Question 4: With the C60, you are doing 1080p30? and no issue?

Richard;
I believe you may have a faulty camera. I have seen another PHD4xS2 camera with this problem. If it looks like its partly motion blurred. The problem in that case was a thin layer of oil has leaked out and covers parts of the lens.
If you could provide a picture I would be able to say more certainly that this is the case.
Under the assumption that this is what is observed this camera should be RMAĀ“ed.
You may include this message in the SR to possibly speed things up.

here is the image from the camera. It is the same in the self image.
Not sharp at all
ā07-26-2012 06:02 AM
Richard,
Do you get this image during the call or you get the same thing even without being on the video call ?
Try to turn on self view and confirm if the sharpness is same.

Thsi was on a call, but the self image has the same fuzzy nature.
When I was standing infront of the camera with a nice white shirt on, it looked like I had a halo all around me.

Hi
I think its safe to RMA this camera. Looks like the oil leak I mentioned in the previous post.
