when changes are made to 8800phone they will not fully register unless i reset phone on the phone it self settings /admin settings /reset /reset all this is speratic and only happening at our remote sites also i noticed can not do a bulk update to a group of phones cluster just rebooted in sepetember also that the time i first started seing the registration issue

I believe there is a firewall in between. If true make sure if the SIP inspection is disabled.

You could also have trust list issues, possibly caused by expired certificates. Look at the the status messages on the phone gui and look for 'trust list update failed' type issues.

I would also check database replication. If you are issuing the reset from the Pub and the phone is registered to a Sub that is not fully in sync I can see what you are describing happening.

Check for the Incorrect MAC Address on the Phone Label. Cisco CallManager and TFTP Services Do Not Run. Delete and Recreate a Phone. Understand a Network Trace File.
