Hello, our company has CUCM 11.5 in it's environment.
We need for specific phone to send missed call notification to a user's private mail.
How can we make this configuration?

This feature exists on the CUC mailbox under Message Notifications, not on CUCM. CUC will need an SMTP Smart Host configured that accepts unauthenticated mail relay from CUC.

CUC has a Missed Call notification option; the caller does not need to leave a message.

First, version 11.5 has reached its End of Life, and it’s highly recommended to upgrade to the latest version. From what I understand, your requirement is as follows: when you call a desk phone user and they don’t answer, you’re looking for a way to notify the desk phone user via email about the missed call.

Instead of this approach, why not have the user use a softphone , such as Webex app or Jabber, on their mobile device? This way, they can answer calls directly from their phone, and if they miss a call, they can return it immediately from the same device without needing to check an email notifying them of the missed call.

Alternatively, you could set up Single Number Reach, which would allow the user’s mobile phone to ring whenever someone calls their desk phone.

If a caller leaves a voicemail when the call isn’t answered, the user can be notified via email, as @Jonathan Schulenberg mentioned in his reply and not for the above case.

In case we consider using Jabber, I have one more question, please. Is it possible to introduce small delay, say deskphone rings and if not answered after 5 seconds, Jabber begins to ring. Is it possible?

You Could do that on Single Number Reach where the call Rings on mobile phone. But Not on Jabber.

Thank you for sharing this, @Jonathan Schulenberg . I’ve never explored this option in the CUC before.

Thanks for your answers.

One more question, please. What we need to install CUC server in our evironment? Considering that we have older version of CUCM 11.5.

CUC is as CM a virtual server. So you'll need to create one, or two if you want redundancy, VM(s) based on the OVA for the CUC version you intend to setup and then run the installation of the CUC from a bootable ISO.

Thanks for your answer. I have one more question. We have CUCM 11.5 is it still possible to download and install CUC 11.5? Is not it outdated and without support? Can I get licences for it?

That would be a no on both part of your question. Version 11.5 is EOL since a while. With that you cannot download it or get licenses for it. That said, you do not need to use version 11.5 of CUC, you could use a newer version of CUC than CM. I would recommend that you'd go with version 15 and plan the upgrade of you CM to this version as well as that's the only version that will be supported pretty soon.

Thanks. Can you please explain how we can upgrade to a newer version of CUCM? I mean, we bought licenses for CUCM 11.5, and they are still working. So, how are we supposed to transfer those licenses to the upgraded version of CUCM? Is it possible, or do we have to buy all the licenses again? What is the process we should follow?

I would recommend you to reach out to a reputable Cisco collaboration partner to discuss this. It’s a two wide topic to handle in the community.
