CUCM Redundancy

CUCM CUC IMP 11.5 We have an onsite data center that is suppose to be failsafe, but we have Glitches sometimes. Nothing is perfect. We want to improve our design. So any input from Real world experience would be greatly appreciated. We currently have Pub, Sub1, Sub2 etc for all of the communication servers split to 2 VMs. I'm thinking possibly all of our Subs should be moved to another location ?

Also, we have 2 Attendant Consoles. If they cannot contact Cucm Pub for database info, they do not work.

Can this database be duplicated somehow ?

Can you have a Redundant Publisher ?

Any ideas would be helpful, Thank you,

I suggest you read SRND call processing section:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/collab11/collab11/callpros.html

and Collaboration Deployment models:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/collab11/collab11/models.html

Here is a link to Cisco Collab Preferred Architecture docs which goes over the best practice architecture as well:

There is only one publisher per cluster and the database is replicated to the subscribers.
How big is you cluster? How many nodes, how many phones.
Our environment consists of 4 UCS boxes in two geographic locations.
Pubs (TFTP, CUC, CUCM, IMP) are in our Data Center 1 and are split between two chassis, CUCM subs 1 and 2 are also split between the servers.
CUCM Subs 3 and 4 are split between 2 chassis in Data Center 2 along with TFTP, CUC, IMP subs.

Hope that helps.
