I am using Emergency Responder and can't seem to find any documentation on how I add VG224 ports into the Emergency Responder system. Does anyone know where I can find the documents or does anyone have a quick run down of the process?

Kyle,
Ugly is a word for it. Not sure what version of CER you are running but there are bulk import capabilities:
More specifically for manual phone entry:

Analog phones cannot be tracked and need to configured manually in CER, they will be static so if for any reason you move the GW or want to assign an analog extension to different ERL you need to do this manually.
HTH, please rate all useful posts!

Just encountered this issue earlier today and currently configuring them manually. It would be nice if CER could query the VG-224 and see all of the FXS ports, afterall the first 5 octets of the MAC addresses of each of the end points are the same as the VG, a little coding to grep out the differences would do the trick.
Thanks for the answer Chris, very helpful, 5 out of 5.

I agree, I think Cisco's thinking is that you would not be moving analog devices that easily and since there is only one IP address for the entire GW you cannot track independent ports separately.

Wow. This is going to be ugly. I have 9 FULL VG224s. Because the college campus has a centralized POTS closet, the ports go all over the place. That means I'm going to have to manually enter over 200 separate entries. There goes my weekend. Time to look for a bulk import option if they can get me the info I need in a concise manner.

Instead of manually configuring each phone, you could just modify the Default ERL with an available ELIN. What's the difference; when you manually configure the phones the only required settings are "Line Number" and "ERL Name." I know I was not going to configure a different ERL for each line number and I know for sure that if the extension is not associated with an existing ERL it will just use the default.

A couple of things to keep in mind. If you're partnering with Intrado, you do not want to do it that way David. Secondly, in addition to the required manual phone fields, you'll probably also want to add a location (for alerts).
