Hello,
I am doing a simple migration of CUCM 8.5.1 from MCS to UCS VM's. I know the process of DRS, VM build, restore and relicensing but I was wondering in the case of a simple migration, not upgrade, if there was any preference to doing the subscribers first then the pub of vise versa.
thanks

Hi Bill,
As per the following link
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/install/8_0_1/cluster/clstr801.html#wp87714
Table 4 Cluster Replacement Process Overview
Step 1 | Replace the publisher node. |
Step 2 | Replace any dedicated TFTP servers or other non-Cisco Unified Communications Manager cluster nodes. |
Step 3 | Replace all backup subscriber nodes. |
Step 4 | Replace all primary subscriber nodes. |

Hello Bill,
1- Install the VMware on the UCS
2- Then you can easly install the same version 8.5.1 on the UCS
3- Backup from MCS server
4- Restore on UCS
5- Rehost the Licesnes
then you can install your subscribers.
What do you mean with "doing the suberscriber first" ?
