Anyone know if issues using the Message Monitor service in Unity 5.x and shared line appearances? We have a subscriber with a shared line appearance and they're wanting to use Message Monitor, but it's not working.
Thanks in advance

Hi Brian,
Hope all is well :) Have a close look at point two listed below;
By default, Message Monitor is enabled for your primary extension.
From this good doc;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/user/guide/TUI/dom/cuugtuid060.html#wp1012316
Verify that, if the directory number to which Cisco Unity attempts to bind is associated with multiple devices, that Message Monitor has been enabled for a single device through the subscriber conversation in Setup (4) > Personal Settings (3) > Message Monitor Settings (6).

Rob -
Any idea why on some of my phones Message Monitor is 'turned on but set to another extension' by default?
I would have thought it would be turned either off or on by default.
Thanks,
Mike

We experienced something very simular - Are you using 10 digits?
If so install Install Unity 5.0(1)ES38
This may be the problem:
==========================================
The binding fails even that the phone number is correct. The list retrieved shows incorrect phone numbers: DN=<-2121054402>. However that user shows as verified as Authorized.
Cisco found this bug:
CSCsk13091
http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs
Symptom:
Cisco Unity Phone View Visual Message Locator and Message Monitor features do not work for DNs of 10 digits in the range 2147483647-9999999999 or DNs longer than 10 digits.
When viewed in UTIM Phone View device verification or UDT diagnostics, devices of this range appear as negative numbers or incorrect numbers.
Condition:
Cisco Unity 5.0(1) when using the Cisco Unity Phone View Message Monitor or Visual Message Locator features, or when attempting to verify phone devices via the UTIM Phone View configuration page.
Workaround:
Install Unity 5.0(1)ES21 or later.
I hope it helped,

No unfortunately I haven't. We are currently piloting the new features in Unity 5.0(1). I will let you know if I find anything.

Yes - There is a problem. The Monitoring feature works on an individual device only. Meaning if the other shared extension/device wants to use the feature that user has to enable on that device.
Hint: Enabling the feature disables it on another
