Folks,
I am in the process of upgrading software in our UC environment, which is mostly way behind. I am having to do this in multiple steps in order to maintain compatibility, for CUCM, UCCX, and Unity in particular, with the least disruption in the production world.
I recently upgraded CUCM to 7.1(3) and have planned an upgrade for UCCX from 7.0(1)SR5 to 8.0(2). The next step after that is upgrading CUCM to 8.0(3a) and migrating to UCS/VM, and more of the same until CUCM and UCCX are up to 8.5(1) at least, and in UCS/VM..
I am trying to avoid having to upgrade Unity, which is currently 7.0(2), until I get up the chart as far as I can. The compatibility matrix tells me I can do that, but upgrading CUCM beyond 7.1(3) requires upgrading the TSP from 8.3(1) to 8.4(3).
So far I haven't located anything specific to upgrading/updating Unity TSP without a software release upgrade, and not having tinkered with Unity for some time I'm not sure what it would take. Is there any process you can suggest, or point me to a document that describes the process?
Thank you,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Version 8.4(3) is automatically installed with Cisco Unity 8.0. Do the procedure in this section only if you are installing Cisco Unity-CM TSP 8.4(3) on a server running a different supported version of Cisco Unity.
To Download Cisco Unity-CM TSP 8.4(3)
Step 1 Confirm that the Cisco Unity server has at least 6 MB of hard-disk space available for the download file and the extracted files.
Step 2 Log on to a computer with a high-speed Internet connection, and go to the Voice and Unified Communications download page at http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/pub/Redirect.x?mdfid=278875240.
Note To access the download page, you must be logged on to Cisco.com as a registered user.
Step 3 In the tree control on the download page, expand Unified Communications Applications > Voice Mail and Unified Messaging > Cisco Unity, and click Cisco Unity-CM TSP Version 8.4.
Step 4 On the Select a Release page, click 8.4(3).
Step 5 In the right pane, click the CiscoUnityCMTSP8.4.3.exe link.
Step 6 On the Download Image page, click Download.
Step 7 On the Supporting Documents page, click Agree.
Step 8 Follow the prompts to save the file to the default directory or to the directory of your choice.
Step 9 Unzip the file CiscoUnityCMTSP8.4.3.exe to the default directory or to the directory of your choice.
Step 10 Delete the file CiscoUnityCMTSP8.4.3.exe to free hard-disk space.
Version 8.4(3) is automatically installed with Cisco Unity 8.0. Do the procedure in this section only if you are installing Cisco Unity-CM TSP 8.4(3) on a server running a different supported version of Cisco Unity.
To Install Cisco Unity-CM TSP 8.4(3)
Step 1 Stop Cisco Unity (right-click the Cisco Unity icon in the system tray, then click Stop Cisco Unity).
Step 2 Browse to the directory in which you saved the extracted Cisco Unity-CM TSP files in the "Downloading Cisco Unity-CM TSP 8.4(3)" section, and double-click SkinnySetup.exe.

Thanks Rob,
I take it the same installation process applies for my Unity Backup server as well. Will update on the result.

Procedures to upgrade TSP are the same on both servers...regardless of Primary or Failover status.

Rob, I'm trying to do this same thing and was referencing the same information. However when I go to download the tsp file from cisco.com I cannot find it. The provided link no longer works, and it seems that Unity itself no longer appears in the support download section. Can anyone provide a way for me to get this file?

Have you tried the general downloads page?

Also probably goes without saying, but be sure to reset the voice mail ports in CUCM after the Unity reboot or the MWI may not display. (CUCM Administration\Voice Mail\Cisco Voice Mail Ports)
