A client of ours is migrating from Unity to Unity Connection and wants to know how the user experience may change. While I did find a feature comparison chart, I'm looking for information about changes to the TUI or system prompts. And can you set a TUI in Connection that is identical to Unity.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

TUI is the same. User experience is the same. Each platform is for certain customers. Of course CUC is Linux and Unity is Windows 2003 based. (can be VM now also).
If the customer is expecting a Unified Messaging environment where the voicemails go into *one* inbox, CUC is not there yet. It's an IMAP connection back to the CUC server. So basically, you have (2) inboxes in your outlook. One for Email and one for voicemail.
If they are voicemail only to voicemail only, will not notice any changes, only enhancements for end user features and functions.
Admin is different, but similar. You gain a few items, but lose a few key features such as Call Handler copy. (really miss that!).

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of the architectural/UM changes. I was just interested in the TUI or system prompt changes. I've done enough of these to unfortunately experience the wrath of end-users that have menu structures change in apps. Bah, end users! ;-)
Nonetheless, thanks for your input!
Regards,
Brian

You can take a look at this also. Compare it your current Unity.

You never know if someone had changed the defaults on the current Unity platform.

Hey Brian,
Like Tommer nicely noted the "Standard' conversation should carry across quite well! On the topic of "end users", we are transitioning from Avaya/Octel to UC 7.x and a couple of our users commented that the "new" lady (Leslie) sounded grouchy ;-)
Thought you'd enjoy that one!
Cheers!

Thanks Rob,
So aside from a new, grouchy lady (lol) the "Standard" conversation and menus carry are identical to Connection, correct?
Thanks!

Very nice, thanks!

Hey Brian,
They are "not" 100% identical because the systems offer some different functionality. The are however extremely close and most users will never hear a difference. Have a look at both Unity and UC Standard Conversations;
Phone Menus for the Standard Conversation - UC 7.x
Phone Menus for the Standard Conversation - Unity 4.x

Hope this helps!
