Hi, is it possible to build inter-domain XMPP ferderation between 4 different parent domains (four remote IMP clusters) without using SRV DNS records. I have four independent customers each with their owm IMP 9.1 clusters wishing to federate over private network infrastructure. There are no IP address conflicts. I need someway of incorporating the A record entries that would normally be published via the _xmpp-service SRV within each of my four IMP clusters.

Hi,
To allow Cisco Unified Presence to discover a particular XMPP federated domain, the federated enterprise must publish the DNS SRV record _xmpp-server in its public DNS server. Similarly, Cisco Unified Presence must publish the same DNS SRV record in the DNS for its domain. As per the documentation it is mandatory to have DNS SRV records for XMPP federation
