Hi

I'm Using EXSi 5.1 on UCS C220M3, I'm using OVAs to devolop VM machines, in this process there are 3 disk types.

1.Thick Provision Lazy-Zeroed

2. Thick Provision Eager-Zeroed

3. Thin

I would like to know what is the cisco recommended type, i cannot find any recommendation on Cisco documentation. Also what is the difference between these three types?

Thanks

Hi,

The disk types you are refering to are VMWare specific Virtual Disk types.  A detailed explination of the disk types can be found in the vSpere Documentation under the section titled "About Virtual Disk Provisioning Policies".

http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsphere.vm_admin.doc_50%2FGUID-4C0F4D73-82F2-4B81-8AA7-1DD752A8A5AC.html

Cisco would have no specific recomendation of which type you choose as this is a function of the software.
