Hi Team,

I wonder to ask , can the FIs cross connect to  FC SAN SW(broadcom)? why or why not?

My ucs is FI-6454.

Thank you.

Can you? Yes.
Should you? No.

At first glance it would seem that connecting both UCS FI's to both SAN switches would be more redundant, but. . .

Storage Area Networks are designed with parallel fault domains (SAN-A and SAN-B) with zero common points.
When connecting both UCS FI's to SAN-A and SAN-B, then there can be shared fate.

See old Cisco CVD:

HI @Steven Tardy ,

What do you mean by shared fate?

Do you mean that vHBA Pin will cause problems?

Thank you
