Hello,
I'm configuring VN-Link in HW for UCS, and was wondering what the HOST NETWORK IO PERFORMANCE in Port Profile properties meant. The options are "None" and "High Performance". I didn't find any info about such a feature. I know that VN-Link in HW improves network performance of VM networking, but I thought that needed no special configuration, simply the very fact of enabling VN-Link in HW...
Basically I'd like to know the difference in swapping this option to NONE or to HIGH PERFORMANCE.
Thanks a lot,

Hi
Currently the checkbox doesn't do anything but when ESX supports VMdirecpath with VMotion in their next release, this option will be meaningful.
In the VM-FEX (VN-link in hw) *today* the virtual adapter given to a VM goes through the VEM for data access and VMotion etc is available.
When ESX supports it and this checkbox is set, the virtual adapter will go to the vNIC directly without going through the VEM and Vmotion will be supported.
Hope it helps.
