Hi,
We have NLB configured for 2 exchange servers installed on VMware on ucs. Then the FI is in end host mode then connected to nexus 5548 which is also the core switch that contain the vlan interfaces
we are using multicast option on NLB
Can I ping the NLB address from the same Vlan without the static arp on the Interface vlan ?
After configuring static arp. Can I ping the NLB from other vlans before configuring the static Mac ?
I think the answer is yes for both that static Mac help only to limit multicast flooding.
Do I need extra configuration on the FI?

Hi Hythim,
You would need to setup multicast on the Cisco UCS. I put a presentation on the document section, let me know if it answers all your questions (it gives you step by step scenarios on how to setup multicast and troubleshoot it to make sure it is working on UCS).
https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/12725606/setting-multicast-within-ucs-and-upstream-network
Please let me know if this helps you.

Thanks Qiese
I'll go through the link
only our problem is that NLB work good but suddenly after some days. It stop and become not pingable
but the 2 physical exchange reply when ping
resetting the first exchange server make NLB to reply and work good again
do you see this may relate to network or NLB service itself problem
thanks again
