I updated my Cisco UCS M220 M5 and after upgrade , I cannot reach the CIMC interface again, I have severally changed the IP address of the CIMC through F8 (CIMC setup) still yet , I cannot reach it again. please advice... Can I use the Cisco-Huu apps to revert to factory default or please advise, this machine is quite expensive and not serving the needs.

How are these settings configured? It is possible they got changed during the firmware upgrade. Obviously you will have to look at them from the console since the network connection isn't working. Do you know if you were using the dedicated CIMC NIC or using the regular motherboard ports before the firmware upgrade?

Thank you Ms Elliot,

I was actually using it as dedicated on port 1 (10G) and i got all the good time before the firmware update. I have installed all my virtual machine and all is fine, but then I updated the firmware because last update was old. please how Can i reach the console?is it through the cisco console cable? I am eager to go by your suggestion. if in this case, which commands or what can i Do please?

I think you should try what @Nithin Eluvathingal suggested about fully disconnecting power first. If that doesn't work then yes, you will have to check the CIMC settings from the physical console of the UCS box.

Remove the power cables, leave the device for 10 minutes, and then reconnect the power cables. See if that helps. Tac advised me to do this for a similar issue , and it worked for me.

I have tried this suggestion @Nithin Eluvathingal gave and also went ahead to remove the CMOS battery, still I am unable to ping or even reach the the CIMC platform. Please if I reset to FACTORY defaults using Cisco Huu , will I loose my virtual machine? please advise

Anything stored on the hard disks would be unaffected by resetting the CIMC to factory defaults. Have you checked the NIC settings in the CIMC? Do you get a link or any traffic/learned MAC addresses from the CIMC NIC port?
