Good morning to all,
we just purchase an UCS C220 M4-S, but we only have one HDD, we are still waiting for the second one.
I guess there is no problem in start working with VMware and the final VM, and later when the second disk is here make the RAID 1.
Can someone confirm I am right, and there will not be any information lost?
Thanks in advance.

I think this is not a safe move so you might want to TRY to create the RAID 1 with one disk and see if it is successful, then backup your data when you get the other disk and "rebuild" the array which is actually to "complete" the array...

Do you think it will be possible to create a RAID 1 with only one disk?
I will try it still.

I have seen ppl doing RAID 0 with one disk (RAID 0 not JBOD) :)
Give it a try and let me know.

As per the RAID policy Minimum we required two hardisks for RAID 1 configuration,So if u created array also after rebooting the server it will not work.
