Hi all,
Which minimum version of UCS Manager version is required to support VXLAN offload in ESXi 6.0 with VIC 1380 cards ?
From the Release Notes, VXLAN stateless offload is supported from 2.2(3a) onwards; while it is also mentioned that VXLAN with Receive Side-Scaling (RSS) Support for ESX 6.x got introduced in 3.1(2b).
Is it correct to understand that VXLAN offload (TSO+LRO) support is available from 2.2(3a) onwards for ESXi 6.0 version, and VXLAN RSS support was added in 3.1(2b).
Appreciate your clarification.
Regards
Sijith

Hi Sijith,
You are correct in which VXLAN offload support was released in UCS 2.2(3) and 2.0(4) for the CIMC.
In regards to RSS - The VIC does have hardware support for RSS, but this feature is only supported with regular TCP frames (without the presence of VXLAN headers).
The driver that supports RSS with VXLAN has been developed which allows hashing to be done on the inner frame for better network performance. This was released as you mentioned in 3.1(2).
