You may be right about the version clash then, the 8.0.0.0 GUI files are tied to the 15.0(1)XA and 15.1(1)T releases. So it might be worth rolling back to those releases if you want to enable the GUI. Paul

I'm not a fan of the GUI myself but it's an accessible way for a customer administrator, who doesn't have a lot of Cisco CLI experience, to set up users and phones. It looks like the file permissions aren't set correctly, did you extract the files with the archive tar /xtract source-url flash:/file-url command? regards Paul

Hi Charles, it's possible that the ones you can't reach are running a software versions earlier than 2.0 which require the web configuration page to be enabled using option 80# on the voice configuration menu. To reach the voice configuration menu Connect an analog touch-tone phone to the port labeled PHONE 1 on the back of the Cisco ATA 186. Pick up the handset on the phone, and then press the Clear function button on top of the Cisco ATA 186. You should hear the initial IVR prompt. Note: The IVR cannot be used or heard if your phone is connected to the second port on the Cisco ATA labeled PHONE 2. You are prompted to enter a menu number followed by the # key. Key in the menu number using the touch-tone pad. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/gatecont/ps514/products_configuration_example09186a00800c3a50.shtml#task3 regards, Paul

Hi Charles, in addition to Tracy's description of how to log onto the web page of the ATAs, I concur with her recommendation on where you should be registering your devices (+5) but as to your problem; To register the ATAs to the Publisher they should have the Publisher as their primary callmanager in their callmanager group settings, and the subscriber second. This can be found under the Device Pool settings for the phones on the CUCM servers. If this is already set correctly it may be a routing issue. Are your Pub and Sub on the same subnet? If not their may be a routing issue from the ATA devices to the Publisher. Try pinging the ATA IP from the Publisher. regards, Paul

Hi there, if you're running 7.x on there successfully then running 8.x should be okay, but ensuring you have 4GB of RAM and 146GB of HDD space is recommended. from the following link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6790/ps5748/ps378/prod_brochure0900aecd8062a4f9.html MCS 7835 2 GB for -H2, -I2 and older. For version 8.0(3) or higher, 4 GB strongly recommended. 4 GB for -I3 72 GB for -H2, -I2 and older. For version 8.0(3) or higher, 146 GB strongly recommended. 146 GB for -I3 regards, Paul

Hi jmeier, in addition to Paolo's suggestions, here are a couple of pages of the Admin guide dealing with what you need. 1. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeinstl.html#wp1071374 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmegui.html Make sure you've followed the installation directions from the first link. 2. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeconf.html This one is dependent on if you are using software or hardware conferencing. You should be able to get 3 way conferences with software but more than that if you have the DSPs spare to use a hardware bridge. 4. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeinstl.html#wp1071374 Same as link from 1. Upgrading is a matter of installing the new IOS and the correct CUCME firmware and GUI files for that version. Your configuration won't be wiped, but removing the unwanted files from flash I've always done manually. 5. Assuming you are on Eastern Standard or -5 hours from GMT, then your timezones look right. Paolo's suggestion of a firmware update might be a good bet. regards, Paul

Hi Steve, the pings to the CUCM server aren't necessarily the best test here are the servers are designed to drop a certain number of ICMP packets as a way of limiting DoS attacks, so you may be seeing that here. To use the 2nd NIC you could just pull the cable from the 1st NIC and let failover take place. Then see if the problem persists. Do you have a security device, (ASA, FWSM, other firewall) between the phones and the CUCM server? You may need to check what ip inspection rules are in place. are there any errors showing on the switch interfaces for the CUCM server (I'm assuming it's Business Edition from the platform). regards, Paul

Hi there, the software conference bridge doesn't support g.729, so that might be part of your problem, try a conference with just g.711 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/4x/42media_ps556_TSD_Products_Implementation_Design_Guide_Chapter.html#wp1087575 also, do you have a security device, eg firewall between your phones and the CUCM server? regards, Paul

Hi Tan, I hope you've sorted this before now, but I just came across your post and thought I'd let you know that you need to include a user in the authenticate url for it to automatically come out of the EM screen so this line url authentication http://136.64.253.2/CCMCIP/authenticate.asp needs to become url authentication http://136.64.253.2/CCMCIP/authenticate.asp name password it doesn't matter what the name and password are just so long as the name us unique on the system. regards, Paul

Hi, do you know if the call is being attempted? that is, do you see the call being attempted to be routed out via the PSTN gateway? If you run a H323 gateway have a look at the debug isdn q931 output to see if the call is getting that far, perhaps post it here. If it is being rejected by the carrier it could possibly be because of the calling number being passed to the gateway, and you may have to use transformation patterns to rectify it. regards, Paul

Hi Heath, in addition to Rob's post it should be noted that if you are on the CUWL licensing model you are licensed for the number of users on the system despite the fact that the model is enforced via DLUs. When you purchase a CUWL user license you get a certain number of DLUs for that user (I think it was 19 DLUs per standard user last time I checked) which can be applied to give them the device and mobility rights that have been purchased. If you are adding more users to the system you need to purchase additional licenses using the CMBE-WRKSP-BDL partcode and select ADD-ON users and the UCSS to match. regards, Paul
