Hi,

We are getting the "temporary failure (41)" cause code on some calls - can anyone explain what this means.

Cheers

This generally means that one or more of the resources needed to complete the call is not availible. (DSPs, bearer channels, ip connectivity are resources that can cause this if they are unavailible).

Hope this helps.

We have had problems with DSP`s on the router and i was going to upgrade the code to a new version to see if that helps. We aren`t losing any Ip connectivity as the interfaces stay up - could it be related to QoS parameters?

Thanks for your help

BTW - this is a sample of a call which drops out. It seems to bevery random indeed

Hi,

what type of router and IOS do you use?

If it is a C3745 you can try the 12.3(6c) IP Plus, which we found is the most stable apart

from a crash bug.

I ran into this same error code in June 2019 CUCM 10.5.2.

This error code is very generic and is basically useless.

Problem: No one could call a new user. Rang a few times then fast busy. Error Code SIP/2.0 480 Temporarily Not Available.

After wasting many hours troubleshooting "network connectivity" issues it turns out that someone checked the "Call Forward Unregistered" checkbox on the user's DN. The user had a Jabber CSF setup (didn't even know it) and it was unregistered thus forcing all calls to Voicemail.  The user had a no Voicemail Profile in place and the default profile was to block access to voicemail. All calls to the user would ring then fast busy.

Once I gave the user a good voicemail profile then calls to the unregistered CSF rang through to voicemail.
