A customer today asked for the technical support blast group, if they could add another extension to ring silently giving them the opportunity to answer the call. They refered to it as a silent ring. Does anyone have an idea what they are reffering too.

Mr. Culp,
Good morning, as it sounds it looks like you have a user on the network that wants the option to answer for the blast group but does not want to hear his phone ring. Depending if you buttons available and using CCA 3.2 I would create a button to be an additional extension and associate that extension to the Blast group, and under ring parameters select silent ring. This will allow the user to be a part of the Blast group and it will not cause his phone to ring and just see that button associated to the Blast group flash Amber when a call is coming in across the Blast group.
Hope this helps,
Mike D.

Hi,
Maybe group pickup (Gpickup). Or group pickup with monitor on one extention. Or just share one of the blast group members number with another extension. There is also for non-business hours night service bell which do this.
HTH,
Alex

Silent ring is done using 's' in button command. This is CLI command. I don't know and don't discuss GUI or CCA.
