hey,
so through cca I enabled external moh port
when I check in CLI I have these commands,
voice-port 0/4/0
auto-cut-through
signal immediate
input gain auto-control -15
description Music On Hold Port
dial-peer voice 5 pots
description ** MOH Port **
destination-pattern ABC
port 0/4/0
no sip-register
!
telephony-service
... cutting config...
moh flash:/media/music-on-hold.au
multicast moh 239.10.16.16 port 2000
ephone-dn 9
number BCD no-reg primary
description MoH
moh out-call ABC
!
now I plug an ipod with the same cable I use to plug the ipod to my cars AUX port so I plug the ipod to the MOH port of the uc520.
when I put someone on hold the same old cisco moh file gets played.
I heard somewhere that if the uc520 detects something on the MOH external port that it would use that port first...
so not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hello,
Please restart the UC it will start working.
The one which is on the flash will be played if the external moh is not detected anymore as fallback.

So if it automatic fallback is supported, it should enough to remove file-based, and re-add it later, without a reboot needed ?
And what happens if port-based fails, then it comes back, does it reverts ?

I will try it tonight from home.
with the reading I did I think by default it will use the moh port if it detects activity on it. if there is nothing on the moh port then it will play the one that s on flash

Hello Paolo,
The reboot is needed for the external port to start if it is not detected properly not for fallback.
If the external port fails it reverts to the file based, but if the external port is not starting when you plug in some device to it you have to restart the UC.
Best regards,
Alex
