Android devices, power saving, pulling my hair out

Hi everyone,

Have an issue which I hope has a simple solution, but I cant seem to find it.

I acquired an 887VA-W which has a built in AP802GN. Ive taken an almost literal copy of the config off my 1242AG and put it on to the AP inside the 887 and Im now seeing some issues which I never saw before, and its quite annoying.

At first it would take almost an eternity for my Nexus 5 device to connect to the new AP. And once it would connect it wouldnt remain connected for more than a few minutes before dropping off, and then again taking forever to reconnect. Ive got other devices connected, like MacBook Pros, and they seem to have no issues what so ever.

Other devices include a Chromecast, and Im not sure if its related to the phone dropping off, but if streaming a video, when the phone drops off the video playing on the Chromecast also stops. Unfortunately I dont have any Apple iOS or other devices to test with.

Ive done a bit of searching, found suggestions to use a hidden config command dot11 wpa handshake timeout, played around with various rts threshold/retry values that Ive found on-line, and tried a 15.3 and 12.4 IOS image but nothing is seeming to help.

Apparently its a combination of WPA2 and power saving functionality that causes this to happen.

Does anyone have experience with this, perhaps you have a "golden config" that "just works and doesnt cause issues" ? Do you know how to fix it?

Would really appreciate some help as this has been driving me nuts for a couple of months now while Ive been troubleshooting on and off.

For what its worth, if I switch my devices back to the 1242AG all of the issues disappear immedaitely and devices will stay connected and stable, or at least do not seem to exhibit these symptoms anywhere near as bad as they do with the AP in the 887W as I dont notice anything at all.

Have attached a copy of the config from the AP802, if you can spot anything or make any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Tom
