just want to find out if anyone knows if you can running these access point is standalone mode ?

All cisco Access Point can work in standalone with the right IOS. Just make sure this AP you have is not running capwap firmware, it does, you need to convert to standalone.

- There is no concept of 'classic standalone' for those models but they can run in Embedded Wireless Controller (EWC) software , then the AP becomes a (small) controller for other APs , including itself , so being 'alone' in this mode it also provides access point servicing ,

thanks for the feedback, it seems that the images are no longer under the AP itself rather under EWC section.

Actually not true anymore. The newer AP models DO NOT support any standalone mode except for site-survey mode which (as the name suggests) is purely for conducting site surveys with "AP on a stick".
