Quick question. Can I use a vWLC as for foreign and anchor WLC? I am trying to lab up a customer scenario, but when I connect to the guest WLAN, I keep getting an IP from the foreign WLC and not the anchor.
TIA,
Dan

Thanks for the replies. I tried 8.6, but quickly found out the AP I was testing with isn't supported, so I rolled back to 8.5.

You cannot use vWLC as a guest anchor, because the vSwitch in ESXi doesn't support dynamic learning of MAC Addresses on vNICs.
So the Problem is not the vWLC, but the hypervisor.
One Solution is to set the vSwitch in promiscuous mode. After that the vSwitch works like a Hub and broadcasts everything to all ports. But this could result in Performance issues.
I hope in future cisco will support vWLC as guest anchor, if a separate vSwitch is configured.
