Hello Experts,
How good is the practice of converting a wireless access point in an autonomous mode for Wireless Site surveys?
I have a huge site for site survey, and I am planning to convert the light weight APs(2700 & 1572) to autonomous mode. My main concern is just the more coverage area with minimal access points as I don't want to loose with other wireless product vendors. In lightweight mode, we have the option to either leave an access point at the mercy of rrm to decide on the power level or configure it manually.
However if I need to set maximum transmission power on an autonomous wireless access point, then what is the criterion?
Will configuring each individual radio with below configuration makes sure that the transmission power as set to max, or need I have some more configuration in place to achieve max transmission power on an autonomous wireless access point?
ap#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
ap(config)#interface dot11Radio 0
ap(config-if)#power client ?
<-127 - 127> A value in dBm
local Set power to Access Point local power
maximum Set power to allowed maximum
ap(config-if)#power client maximum
ap#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
ap(config)#interface dot11Radio 1
ap(config-if)#power client ?
<-127 - 127> A value in dBm
local Set power to Access Point local power
maximum Set power to allowed maximum
ap(config-if)#power client maximum

Also from GUI what are the fields to be selected for having the largest coverage possible from below table:
Radio Configuration |

Radio 2.4GHz |
Radio 5GHz |

Hi Mohan
Thanks for your response.
Going by the link, there's a way out to verify the configured power level by issuing, 'show controllers dot11Radio 0' & 'show controllers dot11Radio 1'.
However when I issue 'show controllers dot11Radio 0' then it reflects output as:
Configured TxPower: 14 dBm (Level Index 1)
Allowed Power Levels: 14 10 6 dBm
I am using AIR-AP1572EAC-E-K9 with antenna's of high gain viz: AIR-ANT2568VG-N.
With this combination, I was expecting max transmission power of around 25 dBm. Also the maximum transmission power level reflected in autonomous is just upto 14 dBm?
When in autonomous I am pretty much confident for it to be over 25 dBm. Why is there a tx power level difference between autonomous and lightweight AP on the same device?

Hi,
In the following video step by step process has been shown How to Configure Cisco AIRONET 3602i Autonomous/Standalone Access Point using GUI with WPAv2 Authentication Key.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmZZ2BNGXQH1HPS3uIVnr7A?sub_confirmation=1
Configuring Aironet Access Point with WPAv2 Authentication in GUI :
1. In Easy Setup
Under Network Configuration
Edit AP hostname, Static IP, Subnet mask and Default Gateway
Under In Radio Configuration
Create SSID name WLAN_New under Radio 2.4GHz and select Broadcast SSID in Beacon
2. Apply Encryption Modes to AES CCMP
3. Enable WPAv2 and apply WPA Pre-shared Key: to SSID
4. Enable Wireless Radio Interface (Radio0-802.11N2.4GHz/ Radio1-802.11N5GHz) UP
5. Save the configuration
6. Finally check the SSID Wi-Fi connection, Security Key, IP address and browsing through internet
