Does Cisco IP Wireless Phone 8821 stay connected between accesspoints?

I have an 8821 and it works great. The thing i was curious about, is the phone suppose to stay connected to a call while you leave the range of one AP and get in range of another? Is there something i have to do to have it work? Currently it loses the call and doesn't come back even if I went back to the orignial AP.

Depends on the firmware of the phone.

Depends on how "dense" is the APs.

Depends on the configuration of the phone.

NOTE:  I have about 300 x 8821 and I hate supporting them.  Aside from the fact that the wireless NIC crashes with little effort and the phone is atrociously designed by a lunatic.

Isn't the firmware updated automatically by UCM? I'm running version 14 something on call manager.

That depends on the device packs loaded into the CUCM.

Our 8821 are on 11.0(6)SR5.
