IPhone, IPad not connecting to stand alone AP1131

Hi,

I wonder if someone has experienced problems with IPods and IPads to connect to stand alone AP1131? My scenario is as follows:

There is a section of a campus that is covered by 14 stand alone AP1131 were I experience the problem.

The security parameters are: 802.1x, wpa enterprise, tkip

The other section is under WLC also AP1131 but in this case in WLANs/Scurity/Leyer 2 I checked boxes:

WPA Policy, WPA Encryption TKIP

WPA2 Policy, WPA2 Encryption AES

Auth Key Mgmt 802.1x

Wonder if the fact that I chose WPA2, AES makes a difference with stand alone mode? Anyways I tried configuring AES in stand alone APs and it didn't make a difference since I could not connect either.

Thank you!

If we are not using Cisco clients, the best practice is to disable it on the WLC if LWAPP Design OR on the Autonomous AP..

here is the command

en

conf t

no dot11 extension aironet

here is the link as well

One more question.

It worked for stand alone APs, but in WLC there is no need to do it. Is it something the WLC does in auto mode?

Hi,

On the WLC, its per WLAN bassis.. we need to do it manually.. by default its enabled.. Its in WLAN Edit pade and in Advanced TAB. (We need to uncheck it and here its caled Extentions IE).

Does it have to do with CCX?

If so, why apple clients does not comply with this?

yes.. if we take WLC Aironet IE, then this includes CCX as well!!
