Couple of reasons i can see why the GUI go slow,

1. high CPU

2. check uptime if it is more than 1+years suggest to restart and check.

what is the code running on the device now ?

Along with suggestions from BB - have you tested different browsers?

We have this same problems for months now

Tried windows explorer, Edge, Google and Firefox...

All are slow to connect and respond...

If enabled, disable automatic redirection from http to https. That can cause this issue.

Hello,

Thanks for your response. I have included a screen shot of the existing area in my config that I think you are referring to.

What changes would I need to make?

We are running 8.3.150.0

Thanks

HTTP-HTTPS Configuration

HTTP Access ---- disabled
HTTPS Access 2 ----- enabled
WebAuth SecureWeb 1 ----- enabled
HTTPS Redirection ---- disabled
Web Session Timeout ---- 30 minutes

It would be this setting: HTTPS Redirection ---- disabled, but you've already set it correct.

I performed your recommendation on my chrome browser...for now it is working much better...time will tell

Thanks

After you disabled HTTPS redirect, did you save the config and reload the WLC?

As mentioned, there is a bug, CSCvf74866, that causes the GUI to be very unresponsive.

You can also try to enable HTTP access and test using that (http://wlc-ip-address instead of https://wlc-ip-address).

Can you share "show process cpu" output from the 5508 WLC.
