I have the exact same issue with similar logs...

AIR-CTVM-K9 version 8.3.143.0

AP's: AIR-CAP1602I-A-K9

WiFi calling is critical in this facility (all using iPhones)...

Those were recorded during a 5 minute call which dropped a few times.  The caller was stationary at the time.

Can you perform:

  1. Debug client <mac address> for an affected phone during the roam drop
  2. show wlan <#> where # is the number of WLAN for voice so I can see the config.

What model phones are you using and what version of software?

2 Files are attached...

The phone is an iPhone 10 with OS version 12.1.4.  However, we're having very similar issues with other iPhone's ranging from 5 - 10 and varying OS's.  82 total iPhones, all experiencing similar issues with dropped calls.  The WiFi signal appears to be great, then goes to nothing for a second or 2 then reconnects.   The troubles all seem very intermittent as well.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide!

No issues with the debug but it shows the phone roaming 5 times to the same AP. I noticed your WLAN is 802.11g only, is that for a reason? You may find performance will improve if you make it dual band or 802.11a only.

For adaptive 802.11r please check the Over the DS is ticked below the Fast Transition option (under Layer 2 in the WLAN).

Or the following config will implement 5 GHz, over-the-ds adaptive .11r, and authentication key management (akm) for the wlan to assist with performance:

config wlan disable 12
config wlan radio 12 802.11ag
config wlan security wpa akm 802.1x enable
config wlan security ft over-the-ds enable
config wlan enable 12

Note: A brief outage will occur for above config to apply. Not saying this is a full fix but may assist..

Thank you very much.  Prior to seeing your update, we created a test ssid with some, if not all, of your recommendations.  Today we tested and still got several dropped calls, debug log seems to have lots of DHCP_REQD entries.  I'll post more info as to the results and configuration shortly.

Again, thanks for the help!

Config and Debug are attached.  The phone in use this time was an iPhone 7plus v12.1.4.  Many dropped calls throughout the test.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I am also having the same issue on iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 16.
