Hi everyone,

Today we were trying to connect an ap 2802 to a 1852 mobility express. Firmware version is 8.5.161. They joined but the ssid didn't work. Anyone ever experienced this? Are they compatible?

Thanks

   - It's compatible with the software version used on mobility express : (ref : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html )

Have a checkup of the 1852 mobility express controller configuration using : WirelessAnalyzer input (procedure) for AireOs controllers
And feed the output from that into : Wireless Config Analyzer

As @marce1000 has pointed out they are compatible but has the 2802 joined and registered or is it maybe trying to download correct software?
What version is currently running on the 2802?
Remember ME does not store all AP images like WLC - you must configure a TFTP server on the ME WLC and then new APs will download the software directly from the TFTP server provided by the ME WLC.
You need to unzip the ME .zip on the TFTP server ready for APs to download.

FYI: refer to TAC recommended code versions below - 8.5.161.0 is now rather old!
Current latest is 8.10.196.0 or if you want to remain on 8.5 then 8.5.182.11

Hi everyone,

The ap joined and therefore we installed the correct version so it didn't have to download anything.

Right now we're thinking of upgrading everything, thanks for the suggestions.
