Hello All,

I have a 5508 WLC running on 6.0.x version. I need to upgrade it to 8.x version. But there are only 2 types of file transfer available (FTP/TFTP). Due to some restrictions, I am not able to use FTP or TFTP at our office.

Could someone please let me know the procedure to push WLC image through console?

That is the only Option available as you mentioned as this is Limitation.

Since you have Laptop to connect to console, you can have TFTP on your Laptop and connect to WLC back to back and Upgrade it (that is best option i can suggest)

The 5508 has a Service Port. Use it.

And make sure to use the latest 8.5.182.11 - download link below.
