Im going throguh a Cisco preseller ( dont think they fully qualified - more like sales men) and they recommended cisco 3600e AP and 2566P4W antenna for external.
One thing I dont undertand it the 3600i is designed for internal but the antenna is for external, therefore we have to buy the rf coaxial cable to connect the ap to the antenna, thus will generate signal loss.
Should't external APs do a better job?

The 3600e uses external the 3600i is internal. The letters after the model tells you if it's external or internal.
The biggest question is what are you trying to cover? Mesh AP's are typically better to use if you have a large area to cover. These are also a true outdoor ap that can handle most of Mother Nature. They also cost more.

Just to note, the 3600 ports are dual band so if the patch antenna doesn't have a 4 lead with dual band support, it's a waste to get the 3600. Get either a 3500e or a 1260.
