Powertable Regulatory Domain -E and Country Code

Hi all,

for wifi tests we have to supply Access-Points to a testlab. Therefor we thought about using an AP2802E-E-K9 with Mobility Express. Also we will have to use different Country-Code like "US" or "CA"

With -E the 2.4GHz maximum Power is 17dBm (Quad Antennas) and with -A max Power is 23dBm (Quad Antenna)

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/channels/reference/2800-3800-E-pwr-chn.xlsx

Will the AP operate in Europe (-E) with country-code "US" with the maximum allowed power of 23dBm or only with 17dBm because of -E?

Regards,

Peter

The power will be limited to the reg domain of the AP - so the lesser of the 2 which in your example is 17dBm for Europe,

you can find regulatory domain letters of countries in below tool. also its regulatory restriction, technically it will work in anywhere with mentioned limitations.

Thank you Kasun,

the question is more about is the AP using an internal power-table regarding the configured country-code. In this case "US" instead of "DE" for ETSI.

The AP2802E-E-K9 is branded for Europe (-E) and configured for the testlab to use US which comes usually with -A.

Will the AP in that scenario use the maximum transmit power allowed in the US or is the AP fixed to the maximum coming with the branding "-E"?

Peter
